Preview and Predictions for Duke Blue Devils Basketball

Mark Dolejs-USA TODAY Sports

The Duke Blue Devils come into the season as one of the favorites to win a nation title. Ranked No. 4 in the initial rankings, they have one of the best rosters in the country. Always well-coached, Mike Krzyzewski has his team ready for a big year this season.

All eyes will be on freshman Jabari Parker. A 6-foot-8 forward with an impressive inside and outside game, Parker can shoot the 3-pointer on one possession and score in the post on the next. One of the most talented freshman to come into the game in a long time, he has the potential to lead the Blue Devils a long way this season.

Deep and talented, especially in the backcourt, Duke is one of the top teams heading into the season.  Quinn Cook and Rodney Hood will be the primary ball handlers, with Tyler Thornton and Rasheed Sulaimon sharing minutes on the wing. Amile Jefferson will join Parker at forward in a lineup that will be small and athletic, looking to score in transition as often as possible.

The Blue Devils have a great chance to be there in the end. They have veteran leadership to go along with the otherworldly talent of Parker. They have depth and athleticism, two things that go a long way come tournament time.

I see Duke running away with the ACC, landing them a No. 1 seed in the NCAA tournament. And this time, they will ride Parker and the rest all the way to a national title.
