It’s that time of year again. The leaves are falling, the weather is getting chillier and chillier and, of course, high school basketball recruits are making their choice of college destinations. Okay, the last one wasn’t so obvious, but it’s happening and Cliff Alexander was the latest to make his decision. The talented power forward chose the Kansas Jayhawks over the Illinois Fighting Illini in somewhat shocking manner.

It was a long, hard process, but the big man finally made his choice and it wasn’t the school that these Illinois fans, I’m going to assume they are students, were hoping he’d choose. Just watch the video and tell me how you feel about the pure devastation these fans feel after Alexander starts picking up the Illinois hat on the table and then quickly switching to the Kansas hat.

WARNING: video contains extreme amounts profanity and frat bro tendencies.

Woah, guys. This kid is just a high school athlete.

Okay, I get it. I would be just as upset if the top power forward in the nation picked another school over mine if both were in the final decision. However, these guys take it to a whole new extreme. Sure, picking up your school’s hat and then smiling, putting it down and picking up another hat is just cruel, but to curse and swear at the kid like he just beat up your brother is just ridiculous.

It’s crazy how these kids were his biggest fans in one instant and his worst enemies a second later.

Sorry, Illini fans. New chant: I-L-L-I-want-to-cry.
