The Duke Blue Devils made a huge splash earlier today when they landed both the top center and top point guard prospect in the country in a package deal. The pride of Chicago, Jahlil Okafor, will be headed to Durham, as will the electric point guard prospect out of Minnesota, Tyus Jones.

Okafor is said to be one of the most dominant pure low blocker scorers to come around in recent memory. Scouts recognize him as the most advanced center prospect offensively for a high school kid in a long, long time.

That alone would be a huge gain for the Blue Devils. However, on top of that, they have the perfect guy to feed Okafor the ball — the top point guard prospect in the country in Jones. While Okafor is a beast down low, Jones can stretch the court with his three point shooting and aggressive scoring ability. He also has a great feel for the game and his court vision, quickness and poise, and ability to make plays for his teammates is unmatched in this recruiting class.

These two really are a perfect match. A year after the Blue Devils landed one of the most prized high school prospects in recent memory in Jabari Parker, they have managed to land two more big time talents.

The beauty of this for these kids is that they will get plenty of playing time. Parker is obviously a one and done candidate, and there are quite a few seniors and upperclasssmen who will be declaring for the draft.

There is no doubt that the Blue Devils will be a force to be reckoned with. They have the foundation of a great team in a franchise point guard and center. If these two live up to their immense potential, there is no telling how far this Blue Devil team will go.
