North Carolina Tar Heels Have the Best Resume In College Hoops

North Carolina

Bob Donnan-USA TODAY Sports

So what if the North Carolina Tar Heels lost to Belmont and UAB. Those teams could make the tourney this year–you never know. The Tar Heels have the best resume in college hoops after their most recent victory over the Kentucky Wildcats.

Sure, bad losses always hurt a team’s resume, but North Carolina has already beaten Kentucky, Louisville and Michigan State. All three of those teams have the talent to earn No. 1 seeds in the NCAA tournament. Plus, all three were ranked when Roy Williams‘ team beat them.

Give me a team with three better wins than North Carolina. Other teams have been very impressive early on. Has any other team beaten the top three ranked teams in the preseason rankings though? Didn’t think so.

The crazy thing about North Carolina is that it is going to be that much better once Leslie McDonald and P.J. Hairston rejoin the team… eventually. Hairston led the team in scoring last season and McDonald will provide leadership and guard depth that the Tar Heels could very much use.

Say what you want about Kentucky disappointing early on, but the Wildcats still look like a team that could be very dangerous come tournament time. Louisville is the defending national champs. Michigan State is likely a lot of people’s favorite to win this year’s title.

No matter how you look at it, the Tar Heels currently have the best resume in college basketball and they can beat any team on any given night. At home, on the road or at a neutral court, it really does not matter with this team.
