Wichita State Shockers Have One More Test Before Conference Play

Wichita State Shockers

The Wichita State Shockers have not cooled down one bit ever since last season’s NCAA tournament. They are currently 10-0 and don’t look like they can be beaten–at least with the schedule that they have. With that in mind, the Shockers have one more test before MVC play starts.

That test will come against the Alabama Crimson Tide. Alabama already has four losses, so you would think that Wichita State would hand it its fifth loss of the season. However, the Crimson Tide do have some talent and the game will be played on the road. Trevor Releford is the team’s best player. He is currently averaging 16.4 points per game and is shooting 38.6 percent from behind the arc.

I still think Alabama is much better than its 5-4 record may imply, but it still has a lot to prove.

The Shockers have already beaten BYU, Saint Louis and Tennessee. Not the best wins in the nation, but still good ones.

The way Wichita State is playing right now, I could see this team being perfect on the year. However, that is a pretty tough thing to achieve this day and age. With that said, the Shockers are playing good basketball and they will be the favorites in every game they play this season–until the NCAA tournament.

I really wish Wichita State would have challenged itself more in its non-conference schedule, but it is what it is. As a result of an easier schedule–compared to other teams in the top 10–the Shockers should beat Alabama, which is really the only test they have left before MVC play begins.
