Duke Blue Devils Earn Another Quality Win Over UCLA Bruins

Duke Blue Devils

Adam Hunger-USA TODAY Sports

The Duke Blue Devils and UCLA Bruins were going at it in the first half. Then the second half happened, where Duke outscored UCLA 43-26. This win gave the Blue Devils a much-needed quality win.

UCLA is no slouch. However, it has lost both of its true tests this season. The first one came against the Missouri Tigers, the second against Duke.

Duke has to start ACC play with momentum and a lot of it. Syracuse is ranked No. 2 in the nation and North Carolina has three major victories on its resume. As for Duke, it has already lost to two powerhouses–Kansas and Arizona.

The Blue Devils have definitely gotten back on track ever since the loss to the Wildcats. They beat Michigan–ranked No. 22 at the time–and UCLA.

Jabari Parker has the talent to lead this team to a national title. Although seeding really does not matter once the Big Dance starts, earning a No. 1 or No. 2 seed always helps out. That is what the Blue Devils are looking at right now. At their best, they are the best team in the nation. You can say that about a number of teams this season, though.

Duke needed this win. It now has some bragging rights over one of the most storied programs in college hoops history and it has two solid wins on its resume. Plus, I am sure this team’s confidence went up quite a bit as a result of the victory.

Whether the case, Duke is looking more than ready for a run at an ACC title this year.
