How Can Iowa Hawkeyes Get Back On Track After Recent Loss?

Iowa Hawkeyes

The Iowa Hawkeyes lost a close game to in-state rival Iowa State in their last matchup. Although I am sure that loss must sting quite a bit, how can the Hawkeyes get back on track?

Well, they can take all of their anger out on Arkansas-Pine Bluff. That contest will be the last non-conference schedule game of the season for Iowa, so it has to win to gain some momentum before Big Ten play.

Iowa could then win its first game of conference play against Nebraska. The Hawkeyes really should have no problem with that one. To really get back on track, though, the Hawkeyes can upset the Wisconsin Badgers on Jan. 5. In no way will that be an east feat, though.

The Badgers are ranked as high as No. 4 in the polls and they are undefeated at 12-0. Plus, Wisconsin has already beaten St. John’s, Florida, Saint Louis, Virginia and Marquette.

Iowa’s best wins on the season have come against Notre Dame and Xavier. It lost to Villanova and Iowa State–both ranked in the top 15 in one poll or another.

The Hawkeyes certainly have the talent to beat Wisconsin, but it will have the tough task of playing that game on the road. However, this is a team that has lost both of its games by a combined eight points. It lost its only true road test of the season–so far–against the Cyclones.

Beating Wisconsin would provide that huge road victory, would give Iowa a great resume booster and would have it back on the right track.
