Florida Gators Are the Best Team in the SEC

Kentucky may have the most talented team in the SEC and the entire country as well, but it is not the best team in the SEC. That honor goes to the Florida Gators.

Florida has beaten two ranked teams this season. Plus, Chris Walker will be taking the court soon.

I was a little worried about Florida after its loss to the Connecticut Huskies, but all of those worries went out the window after it knocked off the Memphis Tigers.

There is no doubt in my mind that the Gators would be undefeated if it were at full strength when it played Wisconsin and Connecticut. Unfortunately, that was not the case. Those two teams are clearly very talented and are ranked in the top 10 for a reason.

Being undefeated or not, Florida already has a pretty good-looking resume and it has no bad losses on the season. It looks like a top five team and that will be even more true once Walker gets all situated.

There is really no other team that can even touch the Gators in the SEC right now. I am sure Kentucky will get better and better as the season progresses, but it has not proven anything yet and just like last year’s team, it is searching for an identity and a marquee victory. Maybe the Wildcats will get that big resume booster against the Louisville Cardinals and maybe they won’t.

Florida has already proven its worth and it is only going to get better and better. It should enter SEC play as the team to beat. It may not win the conference title when it is all said and done, but it is easily the best team as of right now.
