The Ohio State Buckeyes are off to a semi-good start. You know, since they are currently undefeated at 12-0 and are ranked as high as No. 2 in the rankings. Well, I am sure their undefeated streak will eventually end, so who will they lose to first?
I am going to say that Ohio State will get knocked off on Jan. 7. That is the day that it takes on the Michigan State Spartans… on the road.
With that in mind, Michigan State is not perfect at home, as it has already lost to the North Carolina Tar Heels.
Still, the Spartans entered the year as the team to beat in the Big Ten and they are one of the favorites to make the Final Four.
Tom Izzo‘s team currently has four players averaging 10 or more points per game. Two of those players are putting up 17+ points per game.
The Buckeyes may average less points and have less lethal scorers, but they play defense just as good as anyone. That tends to happen when you have an Aaron Craft on the team–arguably the best defender in the country.
It would not surprise me if Ohio State came away with the victory. It is ranked No. 2 in the nation and all. However, winning on the road in the Big Ten is never an easy feat.
Regardless, this should be a hard-fought battle between two of the best teams in college hoops. The Buckeyes may be undefeated now, but I am predicting them to go down when they face the Spartans.
