The Massachusetts Minutemen are no longer perfect on the year, as they recently lost to the Florida State Seminoles. Don’t expect that losing trend to continue because the Minutemen will rebound against the Providence Friars.

Beating the Friars will not only get Massachusetts back on track, it will also give them another resume builder.

Providence only has two losses so far. Those two losses came against arguably its toughest tests of the season, but that is okay. The Friars have played great basketball and they should compete in the Big East.

The Minutemen were bound to lose at some point. It is important to note that the loss to Florida State will not hurt all that much because the Seminoles are one of the biggest surprises this season and look like a tournament team early on.

Massachusetts is 10-1 on the year and has easily been one of the best mid-majors. Wins against LSU, New Mexico and BYU basically tell that story.

Losing to Providence would not be the biggest upset in college hoops or anything like that, but people should expect Massachusetts to come away with the win anyways.

Massachusetts was the last undefeated team in the Atlantic 10. Regardless, it could be the team to beat once conference play starts. Teams like VCU and Saint Louis would probably think otherwise. Those two entered the season as the favorites to win the title.

Well, the Minutemen’s losing steak of one game is going to be short-lived because they are going to bounce back by knocking off Providence.
