No. 1 Item On Kansas Jayhawks’ Christmas List

Kansas Jayhawks

The Kansas Jayhawks entered the 2013-14 college basketball season with a bunch of hype. Well, the team has already lost three games and does not necessarily look as good as we thought they would. With Christmas just a day away, what is the No. 1 item on the Jayhawks’ Christmas list?

How about Andrew Wiggins being the next best player since LeBron James because he has looked far from it early on. Sure, Wiggins is still averaging 15.5 points per game and 5.5 rebounds per game, but it is not necessarily the numbers game with him. The issue is this: Wiggins is far from the most dominating player in college hoops.

Duke‘s Jabari Parker fits that description a whole lot better.

Wiggins’ talent is endless, but he does not look like he can lead Kansas to a national title. At least not yet.

Bill Self did one heck of a job at recruiting Wiggins. I am sure he expected a little more out of him and the rest of the team.

Whether the case, Wiggins has had a good freshman year and he is still one of the best players in the country. However, he is being outperformed by other freshmen and he is currently not worthy of the No. 1 draft pick.

I am sure he will get better and better as the season progresses. I am also sure that the No. 1 item on the Jayhawks’ Christmas list is for him to be everything that they hoped he would be. If that Christmas wish is answered, it will lead to big things.

That is if you think big things counts as a Big 12 championship and making a run to the Final Four, but maybe that is just me.
