No. 1 Item On Miami Hurricanes' Christmas List

The Miami Hurricanes are not even close to being the team that they were last year. With that in mind, what is the No. 1 item on their Christmas list?

That is pretty easy. How about making the NCAA tournament. As it stands, Miami is miles away from doing that.

The Hurricanes already have five losses and ACC play hasn’t even started. May I remind you that the ACC is supposed to be one of the best conferences thanks to a few Big East teams joining this year. For instance, Syracuse is a new member and it is already ranked No. 2.

Miami has already lost to teams that I have never even heard of–St. Francis (NY). Okay, maybe that is just one team, but still. It has also lost to UCF, George Washington, Nebraska and Virginia Tech. The loss to the Hokies technically means that the Hurricanes are already 0-1 in the ACC.

At this point, Miami should just be hoping that it makes the NIT. That is definitely not the No. 1 item on its list, though.

The Hurricanes do not look like a tournament team and they are going to have to be very impressive in conference play to achieve that feat. Beating Duke, North Carolina and Syracuse would definitely help, but I wouldn’t bank on that. Maybe a top five finish would get them into the dance, but I wouldn’t bank on that one either.

Still, people/teams can dream. Therefore, making the 2014 NCAA Tournament is the No. 1 item on the Miami Hurricanes’ Christmas list.
