Who is the Team to Beat in the ACC?
The ACC is stacked with talent this year. However, there have already been a couple of teams who have emerged from everyone else. Those three teams are North Carolina, Syracuse and Duke. So, who is the team to beat in the ACC?
Based off of pure talent, I would have to go with the Blue Devils. They have this one guy on their team named Jabari Parker. You may have heard of him. They also have Rodney Hood and plenty of other talent. Parker and Hood are averaging 18 or more points per game.
The Tar Heels can beat anyone when they are on their game. They have already beaten Michigan State, Kentucky and Louisville. North Carolina has also lost to Belmont, UAB and Texas. Don’t ask me how, although the Longhorns are proving to be a very solid basketball team.
Syracuse is still undefeated and is ranked No. 2 in the nation. As a result, I am sure the Orange are a lot of people’s favorite to win the ACC title this year.
These aren’t the only three talented teams in the conference, just the three that are ranked and probably the favorites as of right now.
I would have to say that the Orange are the team to beat right now, though. They have beaten Minnesota, California, Baylor, Indiana and St. John’s. They will take on Villanova next, which will be a battle between two top 10 teams.
With that in mind, I am going with the Blue Devils to win the conference title. Parker is the best player in the country right now and he has Hood playing right next to him, who would be the best player on most teams. Quinn Cook is putting up close to 15 points per game, so you can definitely say that Duke has its fair share of scorers.
Until Syracuse is actually beaten, though, it is the team to beat in the ACC.
