The Iowa Hawkeyes were very successful in their non-confernce schedule. They finished 11-2 and beat some decent teams in the process. Well, next up will be the Nebraska Cornhuskers and the Hawkeyes should win that first Big Ten game.

That is as far as I am going to go with that undefeated conference record, though. Iowa will play Wisconsin in the very next game. You could say that the Badgers have gotten off to a good start. They are undefeated and are ranked as high as No. 4 in the country.

Nebraska is 8-4 and really has only beaten the teams that it was supposed to beat.

Iowa should have no problem winning. The team is currently ranked No. 3 in the country in points per game, No. 3 in rebounds per game and No. 4 in assists per game. So what if the Hawkeyes haven’t had the toughest out-of-confernce schedule in college hoops, they are still putting up the numbers.

Iowa definitely is talented enough to beat Wisconsin, but that is a feat that no other team has accomplished so far. However, it does not help that the Hawkeyes will be playing that game on the road.

Still, it will be great to see players like Roy Devyn Marble and Sam Dekker on the same court. Michigan State may have been the favorite coming into the season, but teams like Iowa and Wisconsin are going to challenge for a conference title.

This contest may be early in conference play, but it is still a very important matchup that will give either team a big resume booster. Before that game can happen, though, Iowa must take care of business against Nebraska.
