Oregon Ducks: Joseph Young Gets Buckets

The Oregon Ducks remain unbeaten after their run in with the Morgan State Bears Sunday afternoon with a lopsided 97-76 victory. Oregon remains among the ranks of the unbeaten, and will head into conference play with a perfect 12-0 non-conference record. Aside from three tough matchups against Georgetown, Mississippi and BYU, Oregon has not been tested.

Oregon has the highest scoring offense in the country. The Ducks have eclipsed the century mark in four of their 12 contests, and nearly did so Sunday. Oregon has yet to beat a ranked opponent, but find themselves potentially breaking into the top 10. Oregon is not a flash in the pan, and have earned respect from the pollsters through consistent play in past years that has carried over to this season.

One of the cornerstones of the success of Oregon is junior guard Joseph Young. Young led all scorers Sunday afternoon with 24 points. Young, the transfer from Houston, has brought high scoring mentality with him and it has rubbed off on his teammates. Young has posted double digits in the score column in all 12 of his contests as a Duck. In Young’s last 38 contests, he has scored 10 or more points in 37 of those contests.

Oregon started out relatively flat, but it was Young who floored the gas pedal of the Ducks offense to lead his team to yet another blow out victory. Young has now scored 20 or more points in six of his 12 contests with the Ducks. As long as Young keeps getting buckets, look for the Ducks to remain among the ranks of the unbeaten.
