Kansas State Upsets Oklahoma State, Has Come A Long Way Since First Game
The Kansas State Wildcats lost their two best players over the offseason. They weren’t supposed to compete for a Big 12 title this year, but just got done upsetting the Oklahoma State Cowboys, which shows they have come a long way since the first game of the season.
Kansas State lost to Northern Colorado right off of the bat. It then won two games in a row and then lost two more in a row. Since then, the Wildcats have won nine-games straight. During that stretch, they have beaten two ranked opponents–Gonzaga and Oklahoma State. Not to mention, they have also beaten Ole Miss and George Washington.
The Cowboys were considered one of the best teams in the country entering this matchup, which is why they were ranked No. 6 in both major polls.
After this contest, there is no reason why the Wildcats should not be ranked. Yes, they lost a couple of games that they shouldn’t have, but they have come a long way since the beginning of the season. They have beaten two ranked opponents on the year and really should be considered one of the hottest teams in college hoops. With that in mind, there are still some teams who are undefeated.
Kansas State will play TCU next, while Oklahoma State will try and rebound against a talented Texas team. If the Cowboys don’t come to play against the Longhorns, they could start off Big 12 play with a record of 0-2.
The Wildcats may have entered the season very, very underrated, but they have everyone’s attention now.
