The Fighting Irish came into this game with four losses. Those losses came against Indiana State, Iowa, North Dakota State and Ohio State. After the loss of Grant, Notre Dame’s best player, it seemed like the team would be doomed.
The ACC is one of the deepest conferences in college basketball and it has plenty of top power. A win today for the Fighting Irish showed the conference’s depth. Duke came into this game by being ranked as high as No. 7. Notre Dame was nowhere near the top 25.
If this team can beat Jabari Parker and co., then it can beat anyone. The Blue Devils may already have three losses on the season now, but their talent is tremendous.
Notre Dame may not be perfect at home this season, but it showed that it can beat anyone in the country when it is in fact at home. If it can beat Duke, then it can surely beat Syracuse, North Carolina or anyone else in the ACC.
I figured the Fighting Irish would flop after the loss of Grant, but apparently that is not going to be the case.
Well, they got their biggest win of the season, which will definitely help their case when it comes to making the NCAA tournament. This victory will also show the rest of the ACC that Notre Dame is a contender for a conference title–at least right now.
