Kansas Jayhawks Are the Hottest Team in College Basketball

Kansas may have lost four games in its non-conferene schedule, but it has been great so far in Big 12 play. So great that the Jayhawks are the hottest team in college basketball.

They have won their first five conference games. Four of those victories were against ranked opponents. Two of them were against top 10 teams. Yeah, Kansas is definitely hot right now.

Kanasas has beaten the best teams in the conference and it is easily the team to beat in the Big 12 at this point. That could easily change with a loss or two, but the Jayhawks look like national title contenders. Their four non-conference losses seem like they didn’t even happen now and this team continues to climb up the rankings.

Bill Self‘s team is currently ranked as high as No. 8.

I am not trying to take anything away from the Jayhawks, especially since I have been praising them this entire article, but it is time to see how good they are on the road. They beat Oklahoma and Iowa State away from home, which are both great victories, but they will still have to play Oklahoma State, Baylor, Texas and Kansas State on the road. All four of those teams are capable of winning the conference title.

The Big 12 is still wide open, but this team has started conference play with a huge bang. The winner of this conference could go on to earn a No. 1 seed in the dance and I am sure that’s what Kansas’ mission is right now. That and winning a national championship.
