The Blue Devils still have the best duo in the ACC–Jabari Parker and Rodney Hood—Quinn Cook is a solid point guard, Rasheed Sulaimon is getting better and better and Mike Krzyzewski is the head coach.
Duke is playing better in general and that could not be any more true about Parker, who dropped 23 points last game.
Losses against Notre Dame and Clemson are disappointing, but victories against Virginia and North Carolina State have Duke back on track. May I remind you that the Blue Devils beat the Wolfpack by 35 points.
Showdowns against North Carolina and Syracuse are going to be great this season and it would not surprise me if Duke won all four of those games. I doubt it happens, but it still wouldn’t surprise me if it did.
At the very least, Duke has to split the season series with both teams. The Orange are going to eventually lose as well. They have arguably been the best team in college basketball, but they will have a real challenge when they take on the Blue Devils on Feb. 1.
A 3-2 conference record is probably not how this team wanted to start off ACC play, especially since it only had two losses in non-conference play, but Duke is starting to look like a national title contender once again and no one should be surprised if it ends up winning the ACC title.
