Top 25 Rankings

top
Marvin Gentry-USA TODAY Sports

Just like last week, the bottom half of the college basketball top 25 rankings will look much different. However, the same thing cannot be said about the top two teams in college hoops.

Arizona and Syracuse remain undefeated, so you better believe that they are still No. 1 and No. 2 in the rankings for Week 11. However, teams like Michigan State, Florida and San Diego State are not too far behind.

Kansas is even in the top 10 now despite having four losses on the season. However, the Jayhawks have gotten off to an amazing start in Big 12 play, but we will talk about that later.

It is amazing that Ohio State was able to go undefeated for so long, but has now lost four games in a row. The Buckeyes are still ranked in the top 25, but barely.

Another Big Ten team entered the rankings this week, but you will just have to wait and see which team that is. There are now five ranked teams from the Big Ten.

The Big 12 is certainly holding its own in that department, as it has five teams ranked in this top 25 as well. One of those teams is ranked in the top 10.

The SEC is lacking in that same category and only has two ranked teams. I am sure you can guess which teams those are. One of those SEC teams even cracked the top five this week.

Well, get ready for another exciting week of college basketball by seeing the top 25 rankings for Week 11.

25. Ohio State Buckeyes

Bruce Thorson-USA TODAY Sports

I understand that the Big Ten is good. Ohio State is still not playing good basketball, though.

The Buckeyes have now lost four games in a row. Two of those losses came against unranked opponents.

24. Kansas State Wildcats

24
Scott Sewell-USA TODAY Sports

After getting a quality win over Oklahoma, Kansas State lost two games later against Texas. Still, that game was played on the road and the Wildcats only lost by three.

23. Texas Longhorns

23
Brendan Maloney-USA TODAY Sports

Speaking of the Texas Longhorns. Texas has now won four games in a row. Its last two victories have come against ranked opponents, but it will play Baylor and Kansas next. Time to see how good the Longhorns really are.

5 of 26

22. Memphis Tigers

22
Nelson Chenault-USA TODAY Sports

Memphis may still be ranked, but it is 2.5 games out of first place in the American. Beating Houston at home is not the biggest resume booster in the world, but it is a win that the Tigers have to have.

6 of 26

21. Michigan Wolverines

21
Mary Langenfeld-USA TODAY Sports

Michigan is on a roll in the Big Ten. Beating Wisconsin was huge and it got the Wolverines back on track. Who knows, they still may be national title contenders.

7 of 26

20. Saint Louis Billikens

20
Jasen Vinlove-USA TODAY Sports

Saint Louis does not play VCU until Feb. 15, which means it could be undefeated in Atlantic 10 play for a long time, and by long time I mean five more games.

8 of 26

19. Duke Blue Devils

19
Mark Dolejs-USA TODAY Sports

Beating Virginia and North Carolina State in back-to-back games is exactly what the Duke Blue Devils needed. They are still two games back in the ACC standings, though.

9 of 26

18. Pittsburgh Panthers

18
Rich Barnes-USA TODAY Sports

Pittsburgh will have to travel to Maryland next, but it gets Duke at home the very next game. Victories in both would be big and would show the country how good the Big East really was last year.

You know, since Syracuse is currently the best team in the ACC and Pittsburgh is tied for second place in the standings. Both played in the Big East last year.

10 of 26

17. Iowa State Cyclones

17
Brendan Maloney-USA TODAY Sports

Iowa State has now dropped three games in a row, but it is still a very talented team that could make a deep run in this year’s dance.

11 of 26

16. Creighton Bluejays

16
Eric Hartline-USA TODAY Sports

Creighton lost to Providence and then followed that up by blowing out Villanova. Both contests were played on the road, but the victory over the Wildcats shows how good the Bluejays can be when they play at their best.

12 of 26

15. Louisville Cardinals

15
David Butler II-USA TODAY Sports

Louisville desperately needed a quality win and it got it against the Connecticut Huskies. Beating Shabazz Napier and co. is not easy, especially when they are at home.

13 of 26

14. Kentucky Wildcats

14
Mark Zerof-USA TODAY Sports

Kentucky is proving to be one of the top teams in the SEC. Regardless, I am sure everyone cannot wait until the showdown with Florida.

14 of 26

13. Cincinnati Bearcats

13
Kim Klement-USA TODAY Sports

Cincinnati’s win streak is now up to 10 games. The Bearcats are also the only undefeated team in the AAC.

15 of 26

12. Oklahoma State Cowboys

12
John Rieger-USA TODAY Sports

It’s a shame that Oklahoma State could not beat Kansas, but it did only lose by two on the road.

16 of 26

11. Iowa Hawkeyes

11
Reese Strickland-USA TODAY Sport -USA TODAY Sports

Iowa has only lost three games on the season. All three opponents were ranked in the top 10 at one time or another.

17 of 26

10. Wisconsin Badgers

10
Mary Langenfeld-USA TODAY Sports

Wisconsin has lost two games in a row. Both were close, but the Badgers are too good to be losing at home, which is what happened against Michigan.

The loss to Indiana was on the road, but Wisconsin is the better team.

18 of 26

9. Villanova Wildcats

9
Eric Hartline-USA TODAY Sports

Villanova didn’t just lose to Creighton, it lost by 28 points. The Wildcats will play three straight games on the road, so losing that bad at home couldn’t have come at a worse time.

19 of 26

8. Massachusetts Minutemen

8
Rafael Suanes-USA TODAY Sports

I wonder if Massachusetts would earn a No. 1 seed if it won the rest of its games. I sure hope so, but the Minutemen are probably more worried about winning the Atlantic 10 in general.

20 of 26

7. Kansas Jayhawks

7
Denny Medley-USA TODAY Sports

Kansas has now beaten Oklahoma, Kansas State, Iowa State, Oklahoma State and Baylor in their last five games. The last four opponents were ranked at the time of victory and Oklahoma is currently ranked No. 25 in both major polls.

21 of 26

6. San Diego State Aztecs

6
Christopher Hanewinckel-USA TODAY Sports

San Diego State could go undefeated in the MWC this season, but I doubt that will happen. The Aztecs still have to play road games against Boise State, New Mexico and UNLV.

22 of 26

5. Florida Gators

5
Marvin Gentry-USA TODAY Sports

Florida may have lost two games earlier in the season, but it has been on a role ever since. The Gators have now won nine games in a row.

23 of 26

4. Wichita State Shockers

4
Jasen Vinlove-USA TODAY Sports

Wichita State is still undefeated. What a shocker.

24 of 26

3. Michigan State Spartans

3
Trevor Ruszkowski-USA TODAY Sports

Michigan State has easily been one of the best teams in college hoops ever since its loss to North Carolina. However, the showdown with Michigan on Jan. 25 could go either way.

25 of 26

2. Syracuse Orange

2
Rich Barnes-USA TODAY Sports

Syracuse recorded another quality win by knocking off Pittsburgh last game. It will travel on the road in back-to-back games before playing Duke at home.

26 of 26

1. Arizona Wildcats

1
Casey Sapio-USA TODAY Sports

Arizona beat Arizona State by 23 points last game. There is plenty of talent in this conference and California is still undefeated, but the Wildcats are going to be very tough to beat no matter who they play.
