Florida Gators Are on the Verge of Being Ranked No. 1 in College Basketball

Remember when the Florida Gators were just 6-2 on the season? Yeah me neither. In all honesty, their last loss to Connecticut seems like it happened last season. The Gators have won 11 games in a row and are on the verge of being ranked No. 1 in college basketball.

Florida is ranked No. 3 in the AP and No. 4 in the Coaches Poll.

For Billy Donovan‘s team to be the top team in the rankings two things have to happen. One, Syracuse and Arizona are going to have to lose. Maybe Wichita State as well. Two, Florida is going to have to keep winning. I am sure anyone could have guessed that, though.

The thing about the Gators is that they probably will continue to win. There are only two ranked teams in the SEC and Florida is one of them, of course. The other is Kentucky and it will not take on the Wildcats until Feb. 15.

The way Florida is playing right now, though, it would not be a surprise if it finished the SEC season perfect. It is already 6-0.

The Gators do not have the best resume in college hoops, but they are still more than deserving of making the dance and earning a No. 1 seed. At least as of right now. This team has beaten Florida State, Kansas, Memphis, Arkansas and Tennessee. So as you can see, they don’t have the worst resume in college basketball either. Their resume is actually pretty impressive, especially when you consider that they have only lost to Wisconsin and Connecticut by a combined score of seven points.

Whether the case, Casey Prather and the rest of the Gators are on the verge of being ranked No. 1 in the country.
