Creighton may only hold a .5 game lead in the Big East standings right now, but it is a lead nevertheless. The Bluejays are playing great basketball right now and they will end up winning the conference title.

Who knows what will happen in the conference tournament–things tend to get a little crazy once the calendar moves over to March–but the team will end up winning the regular season title.

Does Creighton rely on three-pointers too much? Probably. Are the Bluejays efficient from long-range? You better believe it. So what if they jack up a ton of threes, that is their game and they are very good at it.

Creighton is shooting 43.2 percent from behind the arc. That is the best in college hoops.

The team also has this one player named Doug McDermott, who is arguably the best scorer in the nation. He is averaging 25 points per game, shoots 43.9 percent from the three and stands at 6-foot-8.

The Bluejays have only lost to Providence, who is a very good basketball team and is two games back in the standings.

Villanova is right behind them in the Big East, but Creighton beat the Wildcats by 28 points on the road.

If it is making its threes, it is going to be very hard to beat, but you can say that about every single three-point shooting team. For what it’s worth, the Bluejays are shooting 49.3 percent from the field–12th best in the sport (via ESPN).

The Big East is nowhere near as talented as it has been in previous years, but everyone should have expected that coming into this season. Regardless, Creighton is playing the best ball in the conference right now and it will end up winning the regular season title.
