The Florida Gators are one of the best teams in the country, coming into Saturday ranked no. 3. They were heavy favorites against the Alabama Crimson Tide and ended up getting the win at home with a final score of 78-69 . The Gators had balanced scoring, which was the main reason they came away with this victory.

Florida started the game on fire and after a couple minutes, it looked like the game was headed for a blowout. Florida got off to a 8-0 run, but Alabama kept fighting back. Florida started the second half on a big run but once again, Alabama kept chipping away.

Trevor Releford was the main catalyst for Alabama, carrying his team with 25 points. No other Alabama player scored in double-digits besides Releford. Florida was the exact opposite as every starter posted double-digit point totals, led by Scottie Wilbekin‘s 16. That is the main reason Florida won this game.

Florida is clearly the cream of the crop in the SEC this season, but they have to have better killer instincts. Letting teams hang around can be a serious problem once tournament time comes around. Florida is clearly one of the best teams in the country, and they are one of the favorites to win the national championship this year. If they can continue to get good balance in their scoring, they should be a serious threat in March and April during the tournament.
