Wisconsin Badgers Not Out of the Big Ten Title Race Yet

Wisconsin

After losing five out of six games early on in the Big Ten, I figured the Wisconsin Badgers‘ chances of winning the conference title were slim to none. Well, I was wrong and the Badgers are not out of the Big Ten title race yet.

Wisconsin is three games out of first with seven games remaining. It might have to win out, but that is not impossible. This team did win 16 games in a row to start the season, so it is certainly capable of going on another long streak.

The Badgers should have no problem with Minnesota next game. They did just beat the No. 9 Michigan State Spartans. Short-handed or not, the Spartans are one of the best teams in college basketball.

Sam Dekker and Co. will then travel to Michigan and Iowa in back-to-back games. Beating the Wolverines will be a must. They are tied for first place in the conference standings and all.

Not only will winning those two games be crucial to a conference title, they would help out with Wisconsin’s seed in the 2014 NCAA Tournament.

After having such a great start to the season, along with a 3-0 start in the Big Ten, you would think that Wisconsin would be leading the conference race or only one to two games out. Well, three is a manageable number and the Badgers still have a chance to take home the regular season hardware.

In the mean time they will have to take one game at a time which really should always be the case.
