Happy March everyone! The madness is only two weeks away. There are many teams that are rising and falling at this glorious time. One team that is flying under the radar during this team are the Virginia Cavaliers. The Cavaliers had a statement win today against the No. 4 ranked Syracuse Orange. This win legitimizes Virginia as a legitimate final-four and title contender.

Virginia smoked Syracuse on Saturday winning the game 75-56 to clinch their first regular season ACC title since 1981. None of the players on the current team were even born when that title was won. This Virginia team has shocked many experts and fans. They have flown under the radar all season long but today the world got to see how good this team is.

When people talk about the Cavaliers they always talk about their defense, but their offense is just as good. You know you’re doing something right when a grumpy Jim Boeheim praises your offense. The Cavaliers have a recipe for success that usually helps teams make it far in the tournament.

They are actually the best defensive team in the nation, statistically. They hold opponents to an abysmal 54.7 points per game. Statistically they aren’t the best offensive team but they have shown the ability to knock down the three ball. When they are hitting those threes they are one of the most dangerous teams in the country.

Clearly March is here when teams are beginning their push for the tournament. Virginia is one of those teams that made a statement when the calendar turned to the great month of March. They are legitimate contenders to win it all later this month
