RPI: 42

BPI: 46

Conference: Big East Basketball

How They Qualified: Big East Tournament Champions

Region: No. 11 seed in the East

The Providence Friars were not one of the top teams in college basketball this season. Heck, they were arguably not even one of the top teams in the Big East –six games back in the conference standings. Still, they have a talented basketball team and are capable of pulling off the upset. They did just win the Big East tournament.

There is one player in particular who opposing teams have to watch out for.

What You Need to Know:

Leading Scorer: Bryce Cotton (21.4 ppg)

Leading Rebounder: LaDontae Henton (7.8 rpg)

Leading Passer: Bryce Cotton (5.8 apg)

Bad Losses: Seton Hall

Good Wins: Creighton (twice)

Bryce Cotton. That is the one player opposing teams are really going to have to keep an eye on. If you haven’t heard of him yet, go do some research because he can flat out ball. As you can see, Cotton puts up some big numbers in the scoring department. He also leads the team in three-pointers made (74) and shoots 36.8 percent from behind the arc.

Cotton is a senior guard and I am sure anything short of an NCAA tournament championship would be considered a disappointment for him. As a result, you better believe he will be giving it his all and pushing his teammates to do the same.

As for those teammates, three other players are averaging 11 or more points per game, so he definitely has some help on the offensive side of the ball. With that in mind, the Friars are putting up around 73 points per game on average.

The Providence Friars are dancing!
