Record: 19-11

Region: No. 16 in the South

RPI: 149

BPI: 158

Conference: Big Sky Conference

How They Qualified: Big Sky Conference Tournament Champions

Weber State won the regular season conference title, so it is only fitting it won the conference tournament to earn its place in the 2014 NCAA tournament. It wasn’t easy, though. It took overtime just to beat Northern Colorado in the Big Sky tournament; however, the team cruised to victory in the championship game.

During non-conference play, the Wildcats took on BYU and UCLA. They did not win either game, but both were played on the road and gave them some experience against two tough teams outside of the Big Sky.

What You Need to Know:

Leading Scorer: Davion Berry (19.1 ppg)

Leading Rebounder: Joel Bolomboy (10.8 rpg)

Leading Passer: Davion Berry (4.0 apg)

Bad Losses: Sacramento State, Idaho State

Good Wins: Montana

Weber State does not have a solid resume by any means when it comes to beating top 25 teams and fun stuff like that. The Wildcats were just the best team in the Big Sky all year and proved that by winning the regular season title and conference tournament.

They don’t have any major victories, but it is kind of hard to pull that off when a team does not have the most challenging non-conference schedule in college hoops and is clearly the best team in their conference.

Regardless, Weber State still lost six games during conference play.

Davion Berry is the leading scorer and he is going to have to put up his nightly 19.1 points per game.

The Weber State Wildcats are dancing!
