Conferences such as the Big 10 and Big 12 have been getting a bunch of hype this season. What about the Atlantic 10? This is easily one of the best conferences in college basketball and that will show in the 2014 NCAA tournament.

The George Washington Colonials have been one of the best teams in the conference and they deserve more recognition. They did beat Creighton during non-conference play. For what its worth, the Colonials also beat Maryland, Georgia and Miami. A win over Boston U is another decent one as well.

What You Need to Know:

Leading Scorer: Maurice Creek (14.3 ppg)

Leading Rebounder: Isaiah Armwood (8.5 rpg)

Leading Passer: Joe McDonald (4.1 apg)

Bad Losses: La Salle

Good Wins: Creighton, VCU

Five players on George Washington are averaging 11 or more points per game. That is so important come tournament time. Star players are bound to have bad games and it is up to the rest of the team to pick that star player up. Well, the Colonials have five players who are more than capable of having a big game which will be a nightmare for opposing teams.

Is this the most talented team in the NCAA tournament? Of course not. The most talented team doesn’t always win the national championship, though.

This is a team that beat a few power conference teams. This is a team that was easily one of the best in the A 10. This is a team that could make a serious run in the Big Dance.

The George Washington Colonials are dancing!
