Record: 23-9

RPI: 28

BPI: 26

Conference: Big-12 Conference

How They Qualified: At-Large Berth

Region/Seed: West, No. 5

The Oklahoma Sooners only lost two games in their non-conference schedule. One was against the Michigan State Spartans who were No. 1 in the nation at the time.

Regardless of those two losses, the Sooners have been one of the better teams in the Big 12. This conference was brutal. Winning two games in a row was a great accomplishment and winning three in a row was that much better.

The Sooners actually pulled off a four-game win streak and beat Baylor and Oklahoma State in the process (both ranked in the top 12 at the time).

What You Need to Know:

Leading Scorer: Buddy Hield (16.8 ppg)

Leading Rebounder: Ryan Spangler (9.4 rpg)

Leading Passer: Jordan Woodard (4.7 apg)

Bad Losses: Texas Tech

Good Wins: Texas (twice), Iowa State, Oklahoma State (twice)

Oklahoma has been in the headlines this season, but players like Buddy Hield and Cameron Clark really haven’t been. Well, both are averring 15+ points per game and both are shooting around 40 percent from behind the arc.

Outside of those two, two other players are putting up double figures in points.

Kansas may have won the conference title, but Oklahoma and a couple of other teams challenged the Jayhawks on a nightly basis. Although the Big 12 has gotten a lot of national attention this season, it will be interesting to see how far the Sooners can make it in the 2014 NCAA tournament.

The Oklahoma Sooners are dancing!
