Record: 26-6

Region – Seed: Midwest – No. 5

RPI: 25

BPI: 30

Conference: Atlantic 10 Conference

How They Qualified: At-Large Berth

Unlike last year, hopefully this year’s Saint Louis Billikens can do something with their good seed in the 2014 NCAA tournament. Saint Louis was a No. 4 seed last year and it was upset in the round of 32. However, it did lose to an Oregon team that deserved a much higher seed (No. 12).

The Billikens went on a 19-game win streak at one point this season. May I remind you that they managed to do this in a very talented Atlantic 10 Conference that sometimes goes under-the-radar.

Unfortunately, they have lost four games in their last five.

What You Need to Know:

Leading Scorer: Dwayne Evans (14 ppg)

Leading Rebounder: Dwayne Evans (6.4 rpg)

Leading Passer: Jordair Jett (4.8 apg)

Bad Losses: Duquesne, St. Bonaventure

Good Wins: VCU

Talent can only take a team so far. Although the Billikens are a talented team, they are also a very experienced team with many seniors. I am sure those seniors still have a sour taste in their mouths from last year’s early exit in the dance. I am also sure those seniors will be doing everything in their power to keep their college careers going.

As a result, it wouldn’t be too far out there to say Saint Louis could make the Final Four this year. The next Wichita State Shockers if you will. Unlike last year’s Shockers team, though, the Billikens will be entering the tournament with a lot of hype.

For the record, Jordair Jett and Dwayne Evans are both averaging 13+ points per game and are two players to really keep an eye on.

The Saint Louis Billikens are dancing!
