Record: 21-12

RPI: 41

BPI: 37

Conference: Pac-12 Conference

How They Qualified: At-Large Berth

Region/Seed: South, No. 10

The Stanford Cardinal challenged themselves in their non-conference schedule by playing teams like the Connecticut Huskies, Michigan Wolverines, BYU Cougars and Pittsburgh Panthers. However, the only victory they could manage was against the Huskies. The game was played on the road for Stanford and Connecticut was undefeated at the time.

Playing a variety of talented opponents during the year can only benefit a team when it actually makes the dance. Combine that with Stanford’s Pac-12 schedule and it should be ready for the 2014 NCAA tournament.

The Cardinal couldn’t manage a win against top dog Arizona, but they did beat UCLA once during the regular season.

What You Need to Know:

Leading Scorer: Chasson Randle (18.7 ppg)

Leading Rebounder: Josh Huestis (8.3 rpg)

Leading Passer: Dwight Powell (3.2 apg)

Bad Losses: Oregon State

Good Wins: ConnecticutUCLA

As you can see by the above statistics, Chasson Randle puts the ball into the hoop at a high rate. However, there are two other players putting up 12+ points per game on this team and four total who are averaging double figures in the scoring department.

Stanford did not win a conference title this season, but it still competed with the best teams in the Pac-12. Teams like UCLA and Arizona will be getting more hype entering the tournament, but that is okay. The Cardinal have been challenged all season long and should be more than ready no matter who they are matched up against.

The Stanford Cardinal are dancing!
