RPI: 245

BPI: 259

Conference: SWAC Conference

How They Qualified: SWAC Conference Tournament Champions

Region/Seed: Midwest, No. 16

The numbers above are nothing to get excited about. Luckily they mean nothing once the dance starts because they are pretty bad to say the least. Regardless, the Texas Southern Tigers will be playing in the 2014 NCAA tournament.

The Tigers finished the season on a nine-game win streak. Although they were not the best team in the SWAC going into the conference tournament, they were one of the hottest teams and continued their streak by taking home the title.

Texas Southern finished three games back in the conference standings with a 12-6 SWAC record.

What You Need to Know:

Leading Scorer:Aaric Murray (21.2 ppg)

Leading Rebounder: Aaric Murray (7.7 rpg)

Leading Passer: Madarious Gibbs (5.2 apg)

Bad Losses: Jackson State (twice), Prairie View A&M

Good Wins: Southern University

You may recognize the name Aaric Murray. He previously played one season for West Virginia and a couple of seasons for La Salle. Well, it looks like he found his home because he is a beast at Texas Southern. Murray stands at 6-foot-10 and he is a force every single time he steps foot on the court.

He is shooting 32.2 percent from behind the arc and has made 28 threes on the year. Not bad for a center.

The Tigers are not very good on paper, but what does paper know about March Madness? This time of the year is all about the upsets. I doubt Texas Southern makes a run, but you never know. This could be the best tournament ever.

The Texas Southern Tigers are dancing!
