The Huskies are one of the most competitive teams in college basketball. Unless they are playing Louisville, it is uncommon to see UConn get blown out. Many will say the East bracket is the easiest of all four. UConn’s biggest competitors will be Villanova, Michigan State, and Virginia. Memphis and Cincinnati are also in this bracket, and UConn has already beaten those teams a total of five times. UConn has a chance against all of these teams.

The Huskies have 6 players that can come off the bench and make an impact. Brimah, Calhoun, Olander, and Terrance Samuel are just a few players that can be sparkplugs for this Huskies team. Mixing this bench with the duo of Napier and Boatright makes this team elite when they are firing on all cylinders.

Although he is only 220 pounds, Amida Brimah is an elite shot-blocker who can make an impact on a ballgame. The African native has flashed potential as a game-changer at times this year. Against UCF, Brimah had 20 points, 8 rebounds, and 5 blocks. In the NCAA Tournament, defense is important on every possession. People will find out about this guy on Thursday when the Huskies play Saint Joseph’s.

UConn was one of the best three-point shooting teams in all of college basketball. As a team, they shot .387% from deep. This was good enough for 30th in all of college basketball. With Napier, Niels Giffey, and Ryan Boatright, the Huskies have three terrific guards who can shoot lights out. Add in DeAndre Daniels and Omar Calhoun, and it is easy to see why UConn was so good at shooting from long range.

There weren’t many players that were better than Shabazz Napier this past season in college basketball. In fact, Napier was the only player to lead his team in points, rebounds, and assists. To show how good Napier truly was, he was given the American Athletic Conference Player of the Year. This UConn team will ride Napier, which makes a Final Four run possible.
