The Michigan Wolverines won the Big Ten regular season title, but came up short in the tournament final to Michigan State. In the 2014 NCAA tournament, they've drawn the No. 2 seed in the very tough midwest region. If they want to get through that region and into the national championship game, they'll need their five most important players to step up.

Off the bench, Spike Albrecht can provide a huge boost for this team. He averages just 3.5 points per game in only a little over 15 minutes, but he makes many plays that won’t show up in the stat sheet. He hustles, grabs loose balls and doesn't mind doing the dirty work for Michigan.

Freshman guard Derrick Walton Jr. contributes a solid 26.2 minutes per game. He averages 8.1 points, 3,0 rebounds and 2.8 assists per contest. Walton also averages 39 percent from behind the arc, so he’s a freshman who shouldn't be taken lightly when he’s on the floor.

6-foot-6 forward Glenn Robinson III averages 13 points and four rebounds per contest. He does a majority of his rebounding on the defensive end, which is always a positive. He shoots a high percentage (48 percent) from the floor, as well.

Caris LeVert is averaging a little more than 14 points per game in their last nine contests and has scored at least 10 all but twice. He’s a solid No. 2 guard to Nick Stauskas and can do just as much as the Wolverines star.

The Big Ten MVP, Nick Stauskas is the man on this team. He’s averaged over 18 points per game in their last 10 games, and you expect more of that in the tournament. Stauskas shoots a whopping 44 percent from behind the arc, so that’s where you can expect him to do most of his damage. Make no mistake about it, as Stauskas goes, so does the Wolverines.
