The North Carolina Tar Heels made it to the 2014 NCAA tournament as a No. 6 seed, but will be many people’s surprise favorite to win it all. UNC is inconsistent at times, but its record against top college basketball teams is in its favor. Here are five reasons why North Carolina could win the Big Dance.
If any team can come out of a No. 6 seed and win the Big Dance, it would be a legendary team like UNC.
McAdoo has not been the player we all thought he would be when the season began, but that doesn’t mean he’s bad. With the NBA Draft coming up, expect him to put on a show in the tournament.
UNC has beaten a ton of really good college basketball teams this year. If they can play at that level for a sustained amount of time, they can go all the way.
Paige has carried North Carolina at times throughout this season. Expect him to go off in the tournament and lead his team in scoring.
Williams is one of the best college basketball coaches of all time. Never count out a team led by him.
