2014 NCAA Tournament Preview: No. 3 Iowa State vs. No. 6 North Carolina
Believe it or not, this could be one of the best games of the tourney. Iowa State has a high-powered scoring offense and North Carolina has been known to put up some points over the years. However, it is the Cyclones who put up 93 points last game.
What to Watch For
Who do you not watch out for next game. DeAndre Kane very well could be the best guard in the nation and Melvin Ejim was the Big 12 Player of the Year. These two absolutely have to come up big if the Cyclones want to win. They are the top two leading scorers on Iowa State after all.
As for North Carolina, Marcus Paige and James Michael McAdoo have to show up. However, a good performance out of Leslie McDonald will be crucial.
Both teams are more than capable of making the Elite Eight, but it is Iowa State that arguably has the better offense. Kane and Ejim both put up 17 or more points per game. It is not going to be easy without Georges Niang in the lineup. Niang went down with an injury last game. This contest has serious potential to be one of the best games of the entire tournament. Bold statement? Yes, but it is completely true.
