As expected, the No. 1 overall seed Florida Gators will be playing in the Elite Eight. The Gators have now made the round of eight four seasons in a row. However, their opponent was not expected to make it this far. The Dayton Flyers are the Cinderella of the 2014 NCAA tournament. No. 11 seeds usually don’t make it this far, but the Flyers are clearly the exception.

Before this game tips off, let’s take a look at five predictions.

Dayton has now beaten Ohio State, Syracuse and Stanford in the tournament. Not bad. The Flyers will come into this contest hot and will actually lead at halftime. They have led at half all three games in the tourney so far and that will not change against Florida.

Michael Frazier II finally showed off his shot against UCLA. Frazier II made five threes against the Bruins and finished with 19 points. His hot shooting will continue against Dayton.

At times, Patric Young goes under-the-radar, but that will not be the case against the Flyers. He only put up four points against UCLA, but expect a big game from the senior this time around. He will be a force in the scoring department and on the boards.

Jordan Sibert Drops 20

Dayton has a lot of talented players, but Jordan Sibert is going to have to be a beast if it has any chance of upsetting the No. 1 team in the tournament. He scored nine against Ohio State, 10 against Syracuse and 18 against Stanford. Expect his scoring to increase once again. However, that still will not be enough to top the Gators.

Florida is the overall No. 1 seed for a reason. The Gators haven’t even been playing their best basketball and they still find themselves playing in the Elite Eight. Dayton is a great basketball team, but Florida is the most complete team in college hoops, has Billy Donovan as the head coach and is hungry to finally get past the Elite Eight.
