The Florida Gators will be playing the Connecticut Huskies in the Final Four. Florida is the overall No. 1 seed, so that part should surprise no one. As for Connecticut making it, well, I am sure not many people expected that. Regardless, it should be a great matchup. To get ready for this contest -- well, for Gators fans most likely -- let’s take a look at 5 keys to Florida making the national championship.

Shabazz Napier has been awesome all season and he has been awesome in the 2014 NCAA tournament. Limiting him will be key to Florida making the title game. Napier will probably score around 20 points no matter what. However, the Gators can make him take shots he usually wouldn’t take and contest every shot he does take.

Giving Napier wide open threes and good look after good look will have the Huskies moving on.

Play Great Defense

Florida has the best defense in the tournament. The Gators are only allowing 55 points per game in the dance. Their defense is the reason why they have made it this far and why they have won 30 games in a row. If Florida can play great defense, it can get away with playing mediocre on the offensive side of the ball.

Patric Young is an underrated player. However, Florida needs to show off its center right away by getting Young some looks. If the Gators can establish an inside game right off the bat, it will make winning this game that much more of a reality.

With that said, Michael Frazier II needs to be on from behind the arc. The Gators don’t have that many threats from deep, but Frazier II is one of the best three-point shooters left in the tournament. He has made 117 threes on the year. Ten of those have come in the Big Dance.

Although this may not be completely controllable, Florida needs to have the ball at the end of the game. The Gators don’t want the ball in Shabazz Napier’s hands. He already made a buzzer beater on them once this season and I am sure they don’t want that to happen again.

If this game goes down to the wire, Scottie Wilbekin needs the ball in his hands. He is also very clutch and is more than capable of hitting the big shot.
