If you haven’t noticed by now, Shabazz Napier is a very, very, very good player. He has led the Connecticut Huskies to the Final Four after all. Who knows where the team would be without him. Probably the NIT, but that may be a little bold. Is he the best player left in the 2014 NCAA tournament? Well, I think so and I will be giving you five reasons why.

Shabazz Napier knows how to score the basketball and he does it very well. In the tournament, Napier is putting up 23.3 points per game. The lowest amount he scored was 19 against Iowa State. That was still higher than his season average of 18.1 points per game.

Napier doesn’t just score the ball. He was also the leading assist man and rebounder on the team during the regular season. During the dance, though, Napier is averaging six rebounds per game and 4.5 assists per game. May I remind you that he has made14-of-31 three-pointers.

Clutch

Napier is as clutch as they come. Just ask the Florida Gators. Napier sunk a game-winning basket back in December to knock off Florida -- last time the Gators lost. That was just one example, though, because he has been making clutch shots the entire season.

Napier not only puts the Huskies on his back at times, but he makes everyone around him better. Connecticut probably wouldn’t even be in the NCAA tournament if it wasn’t for Napier. The team sure wouldn’t be playing in the Final Four without him.

Scottie Wilbekin would probably say otherwise, but Napier is the best point guard left. Just watch him play one game. I am sure you would agree.
