Since the college basketball season has ended, many top college basketball stars have already announced their intentions to leave their respective schools early and declare for the NBA draft. With Jabari Parker being one of the biggest names out there — and a player of the year type of guy — many believe that he is surely headed to be a top-three pick in this year’s draft.
However, the Duke Blue Devils‘ star has given everyone a reason to change their mind about what they think he will be doing a few months from now.
According to reports, rumors are swirling that Parker has decided to apply for — wait for it — sophomore housing at Duke. No, this doesn’t mean he’s a lock to come back, but it means that he’s seriously considering it.

This makes everyone think that he’s leaning more toward sticking with Duke for another year rather than bolting for the NBA.
Would this be a smart decision?
After the way Duke lost in this year’s NCAA Tournament, I think it’s the perfect decision. People may call kids who stay for a sophomore season, after they’ve already been dubbed a ‘one and done’, foolish. However, just because they want to stay in college — arguably a young adult’s best years — for more than a season doesn’t make them stupid.
Parker probably wants to win a title and create a legacy at Duke that’s more than just a flash in the pan.
With the best recruiting class in the nation coming in, this is the perfect opportunity to Parker to win a title in college and then head to the NBA on a high note.
Don’t be surprised if Jabari comes back for another year.
