The Florida Gators will have the tough task of trying to replace four senior starters, but Billy Donovan’s team should not take a step back. There will be many different players battling for a starting position over the offseason, so the starting five is kind of up in the air as of right now. The season did just end. Regardless, let’s take a look at what the starting five could look like in the 2014-15 college basketball season.

Point Guard: Kasey Hill

The No. 2 ranked point guard in the 2013 recruiting class managed to put up 5.5 points per game and 3.1 assists per game this past season. With Scottie Wilbekin graduating, Hill should be the new field general.

Shooting Guard: Michael Frazier II

Michael Frazier II was an absolute beast from long range this season. He shot 44.7 percent from behind the arc and made 118 threes in the process. He is the returning leading scorer (12.4 PPG).

Small Forward: DeVon Walker

This is where things could get a little tricky. Florida has a pretty solid recruiting class coming in and players like Devin Robinson could make an instant impact. Transfer Damontre Harris could always earn a starting role as well, but it wouldn’t be at the SF position. It is too early to tell, though, so I am going with the player who is coming back for his junior year. With that said, Walker only averaged 12.1 minutes per game this year.

Power Forward: Dorian Finney-Smith

If Damontre Harris does all the right things and gets on the court this season, he could be playing at the PF or center position. That would probably knock Dorian Finney-Smith down to small forward. Regardless, Finney-Smith is going to be in the starting lineup.

He averaged 8.7 points per game and 6.7 rebounds per game this past season.

Chris Walker very well could be the best player on the Gators in the upcoming season. He could have went pro this summer, but he is making a wise decision by returning. He did not receive much playing time, but he should be a lock for the starting five and he is definitely one to watch out for.
