The Virginia Tech Hokies‘ new coach Buzz Williams wasted little time creating a “buzz” of his own by landing two top recruits in his first spring in Blacksburg with Ahmed Hill and Justin Bibbs. Both players are considered prized recruits by scouts and could turn the Hokies around quicker than many may have thought after a 9-22 record.

Hill and Bibbs are lengthy guards who could and should cause fits. Hill is a well-rounded player who may not have one particular part of his game that wows people, but he has the skills to affect the game in many ways. Scouts believe Hill understands that game well and is not prone to making careless mistakes. This will help the Hokies adjust to a new system under Williams. Hill is also a smart passer and will find teammates for easy baskets. He is one of those players who will fill the stat sheet in every category.

Bibbs is known to be one of the smoother players in this year’s recruiting class. Scouts say he can create on his own, has a game that fits seamlessly into any system and is a player Williams can count on to take and make tough shots. Bibbs has a high release jumper that is hard to defend. The thought of Hill and Bibbs running up and down the court should make VT fans excited for the new season. It will not be surprising seeing highlights of Bibbs finishing off a break after receiving a beautiful pass from Hill.

Virginia Tech has a new coach, a new system and looks to be a team that could make a serious run during the 2014-15 ACC season.
