Hate it or love it, conference realignment is going to make ACC basketball crazy good in the 2014-15 college basketball season.

Maryland may be leaving the conference, but in comes the Louisville Cardinals. This is the same Cardinals team that is just one year removed from a national championship. This is also the same Cardinals team that has legendary head coach Rick Pitino. So I would say trading the Terps for Louisville is a pretty good deal for the ACC.

Also in the ACC will be, of course, Duke and North Carolina. In case if you have already forgotten, Notre Dame, Pittsburgh and Syracuse joined the conference this past season. Can someone say loaded?

The Tar Heels and Blue Devils made the ACC good enough. The Orange and Cardinals make it that much better. Sure, the Big 10 and other conferences will have a bunch of talent, but no conference will have more talent than the ACC. That tends to happen when these four coaches are in the conference: Rick Pitino, Jim Boeheim, Mike Krzyzewski and Roy Williams.

Although times are changing in college hoops, along with the traditions in a sense, we are going to see some very exciting games in the ACC next season.

Top 10 teams are going to be flooding this conference next season and for years to come. Conference realignment has changed the landscape of college basketball — just look at the Big East now — but there is some good to it and we will see that in the ACC in the 2014-15 season.
