It’s unsure who the Texas Longhorns will play on opening night with their schedule still far from set, but with a loaded roster returning all of its players and adding Myles Turner, Texas’ first game next season will be a can’t-miss affair.

Texas will be lucky enough to travel to Connecticut and battle the defending national champion UConn Huskies. Of course, the Huskies won’t be at the same level as they were with Shabazz Napier, but they still have talent and it will be a great early test for Rick Barnes’ Longhorns.

In early December as part of the SEC-Big 12 Challenge, Texas will head to the historic Rupp Arena to face the most talented team in the country, the Kentucky Wildcats. If Texas has championship aspirations next season, this will be a great test for where they stand with college basketball’s elite.

For the first time in several years, Texas could be a clear-cut favorite over the Kansas Jayhawks. With both teams returning solid talent and adding explosive freshmen, the first matchup between these two will be a can’t-miss game.

The Sooners had the Longhorns' number in both matchups last season, and Texas will be thinking revenge for their hated rival. With a much better team in Austin, it will be fun to watch how Texas handles their first matchup with Oklahoma next season.
