Arizona Wildcats fans should be excited about the upcoming college basketball season because they have some elite talent heading to the desert next year. Sean Miller is a big reason to have faith in another Pac-12 title, and you can bet that he is aiming at a national title. Here are five early predictions about what will transpire for the Wildcats next season.
Sean Miller is one of my favorite head coaches currently in college basketball, and I think he will get the Wildcats back to the Sweet Sixteen. A national title might be too high of a goal after the departure of Aaron Gordon.
Those unfamiliar with Stanley Johnson might need to take a couple minutes to check out some clips of his game. He will be the freshman of the year in the Pac-12, and it would not shock me if he got national consideration as well.
The Pac-12's regular season title will be won by the Wildcats, and they should be the favorites for the conference tournament as well. If this does not happen, then it would come as a huge surprise to college basketball fans all over the West Coast. UCLA's days at the top of the conference seem long, long ago.
Miller has some athletes to play with next season, and they could lead the conference in pace of play. This is a team that should dominate the later part of their schedule, but their youth might cost them a few games in the early year.
The Wildcats continue to dominate the recruiting circuit out West, and I do not expect it to change much in the future. They probably will not land another Stanley Johnson, however they will easily add another McDonald's All-American to the roster next year.
