With the 2014-15 season right around the corner, the Wisconsin Badgers appear primed and ready for a big-time season. Coach Bo Ryan’s Badgers return four starters from last year’s Final Four squad, and have already been anointed consensus favorites to claim the Big Ten title before the end of the season. Here are five predictions for the Badgers’ statistical leaders for the new campaign.

5. Frank Kaminsky – Blocks

Already voted preseason Big Ten Player of the Year by conference media members, Kaminsky should have a huge senior campaign in Madison. Standing at an even seven feet, Kaminsky is a force both offensively and defensively, having led the Badgers with 66 blocked shots a year ago. The Illinois native will continue to lead Wisconsin in blocks again this season.

4. Josh Gasser – Steals

As one of Wisconsin’s four returning starters from last season, expect a solid senior season from Gasser in 2014-15. A reliable all-around contributor, Gasser is a tough on-ball defender whose high basketball IQ allows him to pester opposing guards on a regular basis. Expect him to improve upon his 25 steals from last season.

3. Traevon Jackson – Assists

Jackson stepped into the starting point guard role last season and excelled, dished out a team-leading 151 assists in his 38 starts in 2013-14. With the likes of Frank Kaminsky and Sam Dekker on the receiving end of Jackson’s passes in 2014-15, expect assists to come fast and furious for the Ohio native this season.

2. Frank Kaminsky – Rebounds

Along with being Wisconsin’s leading returning scorer in 2014-15, Kaminsky is also a force on the boards. After leading the Badgers in rebounding with 6.3 RPG last season, Kaminsky’s length on the interior should lead to more rebounds for the senior center this season.

1. Sam Dekker – Points

Badgers fans have been waiting for Dekker to break out in a big way offensively ever since he first joined the Wisconsin program back in 2012-13. Now a junior, Dekker has the look of a potential lottery pick after impressing NBA scouts over the summer. Expect his scoring average of 12.4 points per game from last season to improve dramatically in 2014-15.
