The TCU Horned Frogs are undefeated so far this season, but the team is not ranked in the top 25, which could be one of the reasons why not many people know about TCU’s success. The team has not played any ranked opponents yet this season, but the Horned Frogs have some convincing wins over Ole Miss and Mississippi State early in the season. TCU will enter conference play with an undefeated record, which the team needs in order to have a shot of making the NCAA tournament. Once TCU starts conference play, this team will realize how good it really is. TCU will try and build an impressive resume during the team’s journey through the Big 12. The Horned Frogs will have plenty of opportunities to prove doubters wrong. Kyan Anderson has been excellent for TCU this season. The senior guard is leading the Horned Frogs in scoring by averaging 13.4 PPG and 4.1 APG. Anderson is the team’s leading scorer, but the rest of the team is very balanced. Most of the production for this team comes from the bench players, which shows how much depth TCU has. Anderson will need to step up in big games for the Horned Frogs and the team will need to find another reliable option. That option might be sophomore Kenrich Williams, who comes off the bench. He has proven that he can score and contribute to this team by averaging 8.9 PPG and 6.3 RPG. The depth that TCU has is an asset that many teams lack. Coach Trent Johnson was definitely on the hot seat prior to the season, but so far his team has silenced many doubters with its outstanding play. Yes, TCU might struggle during conference play this season, but do not be surprised if they defeat some teams that are highly respected in the Big 12. TCU has always been known as a dominant football school, but no one should sleep on its basketball team this season.
