Which Three WCC College Basketball Teams Will Make Some Noise Come March?

The WCC is the real deal

The Big 12 and ACC are the most talked about conferences in college basketball, but now it’s time for people to start talking about the impressive WCC.

The conference lacks depth, but the top three teams in the conference can compete with almost every team in the country. The Gonzaga Bulldogs, the BYU Cougars and the St. Mary’s Gaels are the three teams from the WCC that will make some noise during the NCAA tournament.

Gonzaga has only one loss this season, and that was against the Arizona Wildcats, who are one of the best teams in the country; Gonzaga lost that game in overtime and had opportunities to defeat Arizona. The Bulldogs are led by Kevin Pangos, who is one of the best floor generals in the country, and the addition of Kyle Wiltjer has really made Gonzaga one of the best teams in the country.

Pangos is one of the best guards in the conference and in the country, but BYU’s Tyler Haws is right there with him. Haws can flat out score and so can BYU, who is leading the country in PPG as a team. All of the Cougars’ losses this season has came against stiff competition, but these early losses will help BYU be a better team come March.

The last team that has a chance to make some noise in March is St. Mary’s. Senior Brad Waldow is a beast in the paint, and he can score the basketball in many different ways. The Gaels are not as complete as Gonzaga or BYU, but the team is tricky and they are always a tough team to beat.

These mid-major teams from the WCC are not talked about that much, but come March, everyone will have these three teams on their radar, especially Gonzaga, who has a chance to win a national championship
