The AAC is home for many exceptional teams, and the Tulsa Golden Hurricane are one of those teams because they are dominating conference play.

The Golden Hurricane did not have any convincing non-conference wins, and the team had some very bad losses to mid-major teams prior to conference play. The team was blown out by the Wichita State Shockers, the Oklahoma Sooners and the Oklahoma State Cowboys, but those losses have prepared this team for conference play.

Since the team’s loss to Oklahoma, the Golden Hurricane have been on fire by winning nine games in a row. The team is 14-5 on the season and 7-0 in conference play. The Golden Hurricane have defeated the defending national champion UConn Huskies and the Temple Owls, which are both great wins for this program. The team still has some work to do if they want to make the NCAA tournament, but almost no one expected the Golden Hurricane to get off to this terrific start in AAC play this season.

Coach Frank Haith has been the perfect fit for this team in his first season as head coach. Many people questioned why Haith would leave the Missouri Tigers, but he made the right decision. He will continue to attract many great recruits in the future by showing that he knows how to win.

The team is led by two junior guards, James Woodard and Shaquille Harrison. These two guards are one of the best duos in the AAC, and if they continue to play at a high level, then the team will keep up this incredible win streak.

Who would have thought that the Golden Hurricane would be undefeated in conference play after seven games? It doesn’t matter who doubted this team, because the Golden Hurricane are here to compete for an AAC title and an NCAA tournament bid. This team will continue to prove doubters wrong.
