Matchup: Texas Longhorns (14-6) vs. Baylor Bears (15-5)

The Longhorns and Bears are both ranked in the top 25 entering this matchup. With that said, both teams also have 3-4 records in the Big 12. Needless to say, dropping more games would not be good news when it comes to competing for a conference title.

Texas enters this one on a two-game losing streak. Sure, it has been one of the better teams in college basketball since the start of the season, but it is also losing to the top teams in the Big 12.

Baylor enters this one on a one-game losing streak.

What to Watch For

Myles Turner is the most buzzed about player on the Longhorns and he has not disappointed in his freshman season, for the most part. It is Isaiah Taylor who is capable of dropping big numbers in the scoring department, though. He is also leading the team in scoring, for what it’s worth.

There are a number of different players on Baylor who are capable of putting the ball in the hoop at a decent rate, but no one is exactly leading the country in scoring or anything like that.

Prediction

Neither team is putting up huge numbers in the scoring department, so this one could be a low-scoring affair.

Although the Bears will get this contest at home, I like Taylor and Co. to come out on top. Look for Turner to be dominant on the boards, and Taylor to lead the team in scoring. After all, he has dropped 23 and 17 points in his last two outings.

Texas 71, Baylor 65
